Comida, comida, y más comida...

I know I have been writing a lot about the food, but my roommate and I decided it would be a good idea to remember everything we´re eating so we can make it once we get home.  Plus many of you have told me you love reading about what we eat.  Not to mention the fact that food is soooo very important to Spaniards.  My señora is constantly trying to get me to eat more.  She says I don´t eat very much at all...haha.

So dinner on Wednesday night was a pasta salad.  It was a lot like something I would make at home.  Basically it was pasta, tomatoes, celery, and carrots with an olive oil and vinegar dressing.  It was delicious!  We also had some crackers that were very crunchy...almost like bread crust.  And for dessert we had banana yogurt. =)

For breakfast the next day we had bread with homemade plum jam.  Julia, our señora, told us that she loves to make homemade jellies and jams.  It was fantastic.  She asked us what we wanted to drink for breakfast and Tiffany said coffee but I don´t really drink coffee in the morning, so I said milk.  Little did I know that the milk would be more like a creamy milk.  Almost like drinking coffee creamer.  It was okay...just realllllly sweet for my taste (especially since I´m used to drinking skim milk...haha).

After breakfast we had a meeting at the school to go over class registration and the like.  It seems like it´s going to be quite and ordeal since the registration system over here is nowhere near as organized as it is back home.  Which means I´m definitely a little worried about that.  Not to mention the fact that it is nearly impossible to find class registration information.  So it should be an interesting couple of weeks.

When we came home from the meeting, Julia had a friend over at the house.  She was a Cuban lady that was SO sweet.  She was so excited to meet us and to talk to us.  She is in the process of learning English so she wanted to talk to us in English.  It was so cute...her and Julia were "arguing" about the fact that Julia has hosted study abroad students for so many years but hasn't learned English from them.  Her friend said that she would have definitely gotten the students to teach her English.  But their little "argument" was hilarious because every time her friend spoke to Tiffany and I in English Julia would understand and translate it to Spanish.  I guess she knows more English than she lets on to knowing.  :)

For lunch we had paella.  For those of you who don't know what that is, it is an awesome rice, chicken, and vegetable mixture...aka my favorite meal in the entire world as of now.  She couldn't believe I had two servings of it.  It was sooooo good I wish I could've eaten more.  :)

But I'll finish writing later.  We are about to go exploring!

Here's a pic of me eating some lemon ice cream yesterday from La Campana!!!
